Andrea Iturbe

PhD in English Linguistics - UCM

My name is Andrea Iturbe Zúñiga, and I am currently pursuing a PhD in English Linguistics at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. I hold a degree in English Philology (University of Salamanca) and a Master of Arts with a specialization in Linguistics (Illinois State University).

I am currently investigating pragmatic borrowing, focusing on the exchange of words between Peninsular Spanish and English from a pragmatic perspective, particularly in the use of neologisms on social media platforms. This research is being supervised by Dr. Carmen Maíz Arévalo.
